Dell Aero, 3.5 inch Android Phone, Launched in India

The Dell Aero, launched on Letsbuy.com, has been upgraded from Android 1.5 to Android 2.1 (Eclair) before being launched in India.

The 3.5-inch model will compete with the Samsung Galaxy Pop perhaps the best mid-range Android smartphone from an international brand in India. However, Dell Aero3.5 inch Android Phone the may have to drop its price considerably in the coming days as the Samsung Galaxy Pop costs just Rs 8,250, around 30% cheaper than the Dell model.

The Aero runs Android 1.5 with limited capabilities. The combination of the phone's controls and Dell's custom user interface makes for an unintuitive user experience. The smartphone is sluggish.

The Dell Aero, which was announced back at the Spring CTIA 2010 show, is the company's first smartphone for the U.S. market. To be honest, with each passing month we were beginning to have our doubts that the Aero would even see the light of day,

Dell Aero is a touchscreen based handset that offers smooth and responsive touch over its 3.5 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen. The new mobile phone from the technology developer weighs just 104 grams. The device measures 122mm x 57.9mm x 11.7mm. It features a 5 mega pixels capable snapper with autofocus, LED flash and Geo-tagging attributes. Besides the device also provides with 8x digital zoom.
